Your first appointment
Before your first appointment you will be asked to fill out a medical history form (click here to download a copy). This helps ensure that before your dentists examines your mouth, they are aware of any important medical factors that could affect treatment. Your dentist will discuss any important factors raised at your first visit.
Your first appointment is a two way process where your dentist will discuss your concerns about your mouth. Intra oral cameras are used to allow you to see what the dentist sees.
Your dentist will carry out an extensive examination with any appropriate x-rays, photographs and models. This ensures that the team has enough information to be able to produce a written treatment plan and cost estimate for any further treatment visits.
If you are interested in cosmetic dentistry to improve the appearance of your teeth this can also be discussed and the dentist’s expert opinion of the options available will be given.
If you have any concerns about the cost of treatment or the actual need for treatment you are entitled to seek a second opinion before accepting the dentist’s recommendations. It is Far Headingley Dental Cares philosophy to try and ensure that patients only receive treatment or services that they want and need.
