Replacing missing teeth
Bridges
A bridge is used where a tooth a missing. The teeth either side of the space are crowned with a false tooth within the space. Bridges are made within a dental laboratory and are then fitted by the dentist
Dentures
A denture is a plate (made of plastic or metals) with false teeth attached to it. These false teeth replace the teeth missing in your mouth. Dentures are held in place with retaining clips.
Dental Implants
People lose teeth all the time through trauma or decay, gum disease and old age. Whatever the reason for losing your teeth, they need to be replaced for both aesthetic and functional reasons. The most common treatments for missing teeth are either a denture or a fixed bridge. However, dental implants are now becoming a more popular treatment to replace missing teeth, as they provide a longer-term solution, slow down bone loss and help preserve nearby healthy tooth tissue
A dental implant is an artificial substitute for the root portion of your natural tooth and is anchored into a pre-drilled socket in your jaw-bone to support a crown, bridge or secure a denture firmly in place. Implants are made from titanium, a material that is well tolerated by bone and integrates easily with bone tissue
