Once again FHDC’s Christmas charity donation has been given to St George’s Crypt, a charity in the City of Leeds, working with the homeless, the vulnerable and those suffering from addiction.
The team at St Georges believe that by demonstrating the love of Christ in a caring, practical way, lives can be transformed, regardless of people’s circumstances.
To meet the basic needs of everyone in a safe, non-judgemental and caring environment.
To support people who are living on the streets into finding accommodation.
To help people gain skills and confidence so that they can take an active role in their futures.
To be good stewards of all that we receive in an open and transparent manner.
To enable people to make positive choices in their lifestyle by accessing employment and freedom from addiction.
To engage with local communities by identifying opportunities to share the Crypt’s resources.
To find the most appropriate solutions by creating effective partnerships across the city.
Care, compassion and hope.
54 bed spaces, 365 days a year, covering our 2 hostels and Overnight Centre; Faith Lodge, Regent Terrace, bedrooms and the Hub.
Immediate practical support in terms of getting fed, cleaned up and clothed.
Opportunities to gain skills, self-confidence and a sense of achievement.
A place in which people can choose to change.
Prayer, support and initial counselling.
FHDC’s donation will provide an additional ‘Z-Bed’ to help with overflow from the care centre as Christmas is often the busiest time of year for this local charity. For more information about St Georges Crypt (& if you would like to make a donation), click here
