This page is updated when new information is available to us

At FHDC we pride ourselves on providing high quality dental care in a safe environment. You can read more about our approach to safety post Covid-19 here on our Safety page.

Following the January 4 2021 Government update, we can advise you that FHDC will remain open during the forthcoming lockdown to provide both urgent and non-urgent services as per government guidance.

If you have a pre-booked appointment, there is no need to cancel this appointment. We realise that some patients may consider themselves vulnerable and wish to postpone their appointments. Please contact reception, preferably by email through the form on our contact page for advice and to reschedule your appointment if needed.

Our Covid-19 safety processes were designed to meet the requirements defined during the ‘Level 5 or RED’ Covid-19 Alert Status for Urgent Dental Centres.

FHDC has been assessed by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) who were pleased about the approach that we have taken since June and are confident that we are managing the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic as well as possible.

You can telephone us during normal working hours and speak to a member of our team if you have a dental emergency. It will help us though if non urgent general queries can be emailed via [email protected]. You can also book online for New Patient Consultations and Routine Dental Examinations .

PLEASE DO NOT COME TO THE PRACTICE UNLESS ADVISED TO BY A MEMBER OF THE FHDC TEAM

If you have an appointment booked and have recently tested Covid-19 positive, have been in recent contact with someone who has tested positive, or are presenting Covid-19 symptoms, please do not come to the practice. Please call 0113 275 1323 for advice on how to re-arrange your appointment.

If you have SEVERE PAIN, SWELLING, BLEEDING OR TRAUMA outside of normal hours please call 111 or call 0113 275 1323 at listen to current instructions on our voicemail.

Please note that dental practices are not required to display Track & Trace QR codes as dentistry is not an activity listed in the schedule of the regulations.

For non-urgent questions about appointments and other general queries please use the form on our Contact page. Our emails are being regularly monitored and will be answered as soon as possible.

Please ensure that you are following all the advice our dentists and hygienists have given you, it is especially important to practice good oral hygiene.

We appreciate that the situation has been difficult and testing for all of us. We are a small family owned practice and we thank all our patients for their understanding and for all the messages of support that we have received.

Our advice to patients on Coronavirus (Covid-19) is as follows…

Firstly check the NHS Coronavirus website for the latest information as this is changing frequently.

Use the 111 online coronavirus service to find out what to do if you think that you may have symptoms. If you cannot use this service, call 111.

If you have any urgent questions, please use the form on our Contact page. A member of our team will be monitoring emails during normal working hours. Alternatively if you are a registered patient, please call 0113 275 1323 for current contact details of FHDC’s on call dentist. Thank you.

Notes about Cross Infection Control at FHDC...

Cross infection control is part of our daily routine at our FHDC. We have invested thousands of pounds into ‘best practice’ sterilisation facilities and adopt the Department of Healths’ HTM 01-05 decontamination in primary care dental practices guidelines.

We source our dental, cleaning and sterilisation materials and personal protective equipment from reputable suppliers. Our dental laboratories also conform to stringent standards.

Our highly trained clinical team are kept up to date through continuing professional development (CPD) and our management team are continuously developing our systems, processes and policies to keep ahead of any current changes. This has included the potential risk of Coronavirus.
