Focus on Invisalign Clear Braces for Teeth Straightening
Invisalign has become one of the most popular teeth straightening services at FHDC. Our practice owner and principal dentist talk about why she enjoys providing this service…
” I first qualified as a dentist from Leeds University 20 years ago, in 1998. This was the year after the film Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery was released. If you’re a few years younger than I am, this is Austin.
While the character was only the talented Mike Myers wearing prosthetic teeth, around the world, Brits were generally thought of as having frankly awful, wonky, stained teeth, just like Austin.
Possibly (and perhaps unfairly), this has been blamed on NHS dentistry over the years and the general belief by many people that their NHS dentist was solely responsible for their teeth, including not just their health, but also their appearance too. I worked in NHS dentistry for many years, and while I am proud of the dentistry I provided and the many people I kept ‘dentally healthy’, it was clear that I couldn’t offer what people wanted aesthetically under an NHS contract.
Fortunately, attitudes are changing.
Since 2005, when I took over ownership of FHDC, I have been building it with my team into the private practice that it is today. Not only do we still keep our patients dentally healthy with general dentistry and dental hygiene, but we also provide the cosmetic dentistry services that people want nowadays. No longer do people accept that they have to live with ‘Austin’s teeth’ and we regularly accept new patients who are seeking a solution for their problematic smile.
Our cosmetic services include teeth whitening, dental implants, dental veneers, gap closure, and white spot treatment. All have become popular over the years. It is the introduction of short-term orthodontic teeth straightening (or short-term ortho) that has brought some life-changing dentistry over the past few years.
We offer three teeth straightening services at FHDC. Six Month Smiles, Quick Straight Teeth, and Invisalign. The first two systems use braces that are fixed to the teeth, the latter, Invisalign, uses a clear brace system.
Here we have before and after treatment photographs for what can be achieved by teeth straightening at Far Headingley Dental Care. The images speak for themselves.
What I like about Invisalign is that, unlike metal braces, Invisalign aligners are clear, so someone can’t know that you are wearing them. You can also remove them for eating, cleaning, and flossing your teeth.
Treatment is a lot quicker than traditional orthodontics because the focus is on aligning your front teeth. Results can often be achieved in 6–9 months, instead of several years.
For more information on the process, please refer to our Invisalign page. Alternatively, send me a message via our Contact Page or call our reception team during opening hours on 0113 275 1323 to arrange a consultation.
We look forward to meeting you and discussing how I can improve your smile with Invisalign.”.
