Two of our dentists, Mrs Precious & Miss Russell at FHDC qualified from Leeds Dental School. If you are interested in becoming a dentist, you can now visit the school of dentistry without leaving the comfort of your armchair courtesy of a new ‘Dentistry Virtual Tour‘.

It is 20 years this year that Mrs Precious, FHDC’s Principal Dentist and Practice Owner qualified as a dentist from Leeds University. As a Leeds Alumni she is keen to promote people joining the profession…

“This online resource wasn’t available when I applied to Leeds for my dental degree. There is a wealth of information on the website. If you are considering becoming a dentist in Leeds you can review details of what is available as a dental undergraduate. There are details about the various dental degree course available. There is also information about the campus, student life and what it is like living in the City of Leeds.

The Leeds dental degree (B.Ch.D.) which I gained in ’98 typically takes 5 years with a an additional 1 year of vocational training within a dental practice. The hard work was worth it though and I couldn’t imagine any other profession that I would rather be in.

I made lifelong friends whilst studying dentistry in Leeds and I’m looking forward to our 20 year dental reunion this summer. I also met my husband Adrian who gained his MBA at Leeds University Business School“.

Entry requirements:

A-level: AAA including Biology and Chemistry.

GCSE: 6 A* – B, including Chemistry, Biology (or Dual Science), English and Maths. Reformed GCSEs: Grade 6 and above.

At present course fees at £9,250 a year so £46,250 for the full term.

There is also a wealth of information about the post graduate dental courses on offer at the dental school.
