You can now book your 30 minute teeth whitening consultation on line 24/7. For more information and details please click here.

FHDC has always been a very popular choice for people looking for teeth whitening. Recently though demand has significantly increased (possibly due to all the close up video calling everyone has been doing). To help people secure an appointment, we have added a Teeth Whitening Consultation service onto our online booking facility.

The consultation costs £75 and will be deducted from the cost of either Enlighten Combination Teeth Whitening or Boutique Home Teeth Whitening, if you go ahead with the treatment.

Boutique is currently priced at £298

Enlighten is currently priced at £550

At this initial consultation you will be assessed by a dentist to check that you are suitable for teeth whitening. If you have previous restorations including composite fillings, crowns, bridges or veneers, these are made from synthetic materials, so will not be lightened during the teeth whitening treatment. Additionally, if you require gum treatment or any other dental restorations, these would need to be completed before whitening treatment. If you suffer from over sensitive teeth, whitening my cause increased sensitivity too. It is always best to discuss these factors with your dentist.

If you decide at the consultation that you would like to go ahead with the whitening, impressions will be taken of your teeth. These impressions are sent away to our dental laboratory to create your personal whitening ‘trays’ (that look like a gum shield). By having trays that fit perfectly to your unique teeth, you can achieve much better whitening application (the bleaching agent is less likely to leak out onto your gums too).

Once the lab has created your personal whitening trays, we’ll give you a call and will ask you to come into the practice so that we can run through how you apply the home whitening treatment.

If you have opted for Boutique, that’s it. You simply apply the treatment at home. Once you have your trays, you can also use them again in the future if you’d like to top up your whitening again. We sell top up syringes of whitening agent only to people who have previously received whitening treatment at FHDC.

If you have opted for Enlighten, you’ll be asked to make an appointment in two weeks after your ‘at home treatment’ for your ‘in surgery’ whitening treatment. This uses a stronger whitening agent that can only be applied by a trained (and GDC registered) dentist or dental hygienist. On very rare occasions some patients require a 4 week home whitening session before in surgery whitening. This will be identified during your initial consultation along with the additional cost of £100.

One of the massive benefits of Enlighten teeth whitening is that the company guarantees the achievement of a B1 shade of whiteness, so you can be assured of a fantastic white smile.
