Interested in Teeth Whitening & Composite Bonding? At Far Headingley Dental Care, we believe in a minimally invasive approach to cosmetic dentistry. This means that improvements to your smile are delivered safely with the health of the teeth in mind. This ethos can be seen in the management and delivery of the following treatment case.
This lady came to us looking for a solution to the stained and misshapen appearance of her upper front teeth whilst maintaining a natural look. These teeth had always looked this way due to problems with their development.
After discussion of the various treatment options, we decided to first whiten the teeth using Boutique home teeth whitening. This is a method of tooth whitening carried out at home where trays containing whitening gel are worn overnight. This allows us to carefully whiten the teeth to the patient’s desired level.
After whitening, we were able to alter the shape of the teeth using composite bonding. This involves bonding a tooth-coloured resin material that is sculpted and polished into the desired shape. In this case, we used a layered composite material allowing us to replicate the natural colour and translucencies of the tooth. Composite bonding is typically carried out over 1-2 visits with minimal or no drilling to the tooth surface.
The most satisfying element of this case was that we were able to achieve a great result for the patient whilst maintaining the health and integrity of her natural teeth.
